Flight Modes in Manual Flight

When the drone is placed into Manual Flight, the drone will remain in its existing flight mode.

  • If the drone was in Helicopter Mode (for example during take-off or landing) it will remain in Helicopter Mode holding its current position.
  • If the drone was in Airplane Mode (for example during mapping) it will remain in Airplane Mode holding its current speed and heading. Note that Marlyn will continue taking photos during this Manual Flight phase if the control is triggered during a mapping line.

Transition Switch (Switch B) Neutral

To manually switch the aircraft's flight mode between Helicopter and Airplane flight you can use the transition switch, labelled ‘B’ on your RC. The switch has 3 settings.

When this switch is in the neutral position, the drone will simply continue in the current mode.

Transition Switch (Switch B) Forwards

Force Airplane Mode
When this switch is pressed forwards (away from the user) the drone will be forced into airplane mode (immediately if in Manual Flight, or as soon as Manual Flight is engaged).

Transition Switch (Switch B) Backwards

Force Helicopter Mode
When this switch is pressed backwards (towards the user) the drone will be forced into helicopter mode (immediately if in Manual Flight, or as soon as Manual Flight is engaged).
